Baptist Takes His Laptop To The Cemetery

When the new chairman of the Baptist Historical Society of Queensland, Australia, Eric Koppittke, goes to cemeteries, he usually takes his laptop computer, and his wife, with him.

The results are seen in books of invaluable information for genealogical and family history enthusiasts and people interested in Queensland Baptist history.

The Koppittkes are really quite normal people, when they're not in cemeteries. Eric teaches Physics and Maths at St Peter's College in Brisbane, while his wife, Rosemary, is a part-time Biometrician, currently involved with the team fighting the papaya fruit fly.

Their second book is a series on the inscriptions on graves in historic Baptist cemeteries, as distinct from Baptist plots in general cemeteries, will cover such suburbs as Boonah, Kalbar, Coleyville and Highfields.

Both attend the Taringah Baptist Church where Eric also serves as a deacon. For copies of publications by the Baptist Historical Society of Queensland, contact Mrs Koppittke on (07) 3376-4339 (Australia).
